This dinner river cruise offers everything and more. Not only the magical colours of the Zambezi River at dusk but a truly unique four-course dinner too. Ideal for food and nature lovers wanting it all.
Embark from the Pure Africa Waterfront and head off into the evening. After your favourite drink is poured, you’ll be ushered to your set table where a delectable series of dishes freshly prepared on the boat and paired to premium drinks are served. Silhouettes of elephants against the sunset and hippos noisily grunting in the distance will most certainly add to the ambience.

Day 2

There is no better way to see the scale, magnificence and beauty of Victoria Falls than from the air. A helicopter flight over the Falls is a once in a lifetime opportunity to view one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
As well as the Falls you get breathtaking views of the Batoka Gorge, Victoria Falls Bridge and the Zambezi River. We also fly over the Zambezi National Park so you will have the opportunity to spot game from the air.

11h00 Guided Tour of the Falls. 2 – 2,5 hrs.
Includes transfers and entrance fee to the Falls.
No photograph or video clip can adequately reveal the reality of these Falls – which reach their zenith toward May every year. Prepare to overwhelm all five senses as you walk along the wet and paved paths, smell the sounds of the cascading water, hear the intermittent calls of the exotic birds as they dart in and out of the vibrant vegetation, tantalizing you with flashes of colour. This is truly Nature’s supreme masterpiece, and the sheer power of the Falls will inspire and humble every visitor.
Look out for the Big Tree, and various points of historic interest pointed out by your Guides, who will also provide fascinating detail of the flora, fauna, bird and wildlife that surround your Vic Falls experience. Remember to wear good walking shoes. Raincoats will be provided where needed, and Guides are equipped to assist clients with photographic opportunities along the tour.

Do allow yourself some time to visit the Victoria Falls Craft Market. It offers authentic and sustainable souvenirs. Here you can browse works by local artists, many from reused items like intricate animal sculptures from old drinking cans.
Peruse paintings, sketches or antique books from the other shops and stalls, before walking over the road to the traditional market. There you’ll find stalls crammed with intricate carvings made from wood, soapstone and verdite, and fabrics covered in traditional Zimbabwean patterns.

14h00 Lookout Café Lunch.

As the name implies, this restaurant has views for days, located on the tip of the gorge overlooking the bridge and gorge swing! A casual dining venue that offers a fresh, vibrant menu with traditional and new flavours that will delight young and old alike.

Day 3
09h00 Historical Bridge Tour. 2.5 hrs.

Journey through over 100 years of history in this engaging, theatrical and educational tour. Built between 1904 and 1905 the Bridge is one of Victoria Falls most prominent landmarks. The Shearwater Bridge Tour, led by our enthusiastic team of guides, takes you through the history of this remarkable structure, from its design and initial prefabrication in England, to its construction in Africa.
The bridge, an engineering masterpiece and revolutionary for its time, was central to Cecil John Rhodes’ vision of a Cape to Cairo railway and its history is entertaining, tragic and transfixing in equal measure.

13h00 – approx. 13h30 daily. Vulture Culture Experience.
This is a complimentary activity that takes place at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.  The meeting point is at the Vulture Culture deck, which is below the Buffalo Bar, adjacent to the pool. Visitors are led down to a hide from where it’s possible to view the wild birds feeding. This conservation project helps maintain the local vulture populations, providing guests with a thrilling insight into the lives of these raptors.
It highlights the human-created issues caused by power lines and poisoned food supplies. The feeding programme provides safe leftover meat from the hotel. Watch as hundreds of white-headed, hooded, lappet-faced and white-backed vultures flock to the ground, while learning more about their fascinating ecological importance. Donations are encouraged.

14h30. Through the Eye of the Elephant. 2.5 – 3 hrs.

Immerse yourself in the journey our expert elephant carers will take you on. They will educate you, engage you and enthral you. You’ll be able to get up close, meet some of the remarkable personalities in our herd. Discover some of the unique skills and behaviours that make them the amazing creatures they are. Understand firsthand some of their super-mammal powers. You will get the chance to give them a natural treat, learn a little about their individual personalities and what is required to care for and give them the best possible life. Then watch them in their natural environment, playing, bathing, rolling in mud and generally putting on a show at the waterhole! You will also learn about the many challenges that elephants face in the wild and how you can help.
Ele CREW is registered non-profit organisation with a vision of an Africa in which humans and elephants coexist in a balanced environment. Your visitor fee goes toward supporting our charitable activities. Ele CREW has a mission to improve human elephant co-existence and it does this through its CREW programs. The Community program helps local people who live side by side with elephants do so in a harmonious way.
Our unique situation allows world class scientific Research collaborations. The Education program has benefitted over 1000 local school children so far. Underlying everything is our pioneering approach to elephant Welfare. We are independently audited to ensure our elephants leads their best lives possible.

19h00 The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show.

A unique cultural experience that bombards the senses with the tastes, sights, sounds and smells of Africa – together with the warmth and hospitality of Zimbabwe and its people. The Boma is partly open to the spectacular African night skies.
Specialising in a superb selection of traditional Zimbabwean dishes, though Western, and Halal diners are also catered for. Diners are welcomed and dressed in ‘chi tenges’ (traditional sarong) prior to entering the main enclosure. They are then invited to take part in a hand washing ceremony before sampling local snacks and traditional beer, as a prelude to dinner.
A feast of nightly entertainment incorporates traditional dancers, a local folk storyteller, and a fortune teller. After dinner, guests are invited to join in the interactive drumming extravaganza from 20h45.

Day 4
Vic Falls Safari Lodge (Zimbabwe)/ Mowana Safari Lodge (Botswana). Cross border road transfer. +-1,5 – 2 hrs.  Visas may be required.
Cross border transfers are a breeze when accompanied by a Flame of Africa Representative. Kindly refer to our detailed “Border Crossing” document (issued with your travel documents) for all you need to do and have on you to make this transfer as effortless as possible.  Remember the journey is part of the adventure!

3-nights at Mowana Safari Lodge.

Private Chobe Chow Bush Dinner.
Includes salads, 3 meat barbeques, vegetables, and a selection of desserts. Drinks billable to guest rooms. Min 4 guests required. No park fees as bush venue is outside of the park.
Your safari begins with a private game drive in the Chobe National Park. At about midday you will arrive at our riverside picnic spot, where a BBQ lunch awaits you. Our custom-built vehicle is fitted with catering equipment to produce a mouthwatering lunch of traditional fare cooked in-situ, with tea, coffee, juices, water and an all-inclusive bar.
Linger just a little longer in this magical spot before jumping back on the game drive vehicles to head back into the Chobe National Park. Arriving back at about 17h00.

Day 5

This is special place, a place where time stood still… Visit the Masuria tribe and wander in their footsteps. They live simple lives; Cooking over open fires; Transporting water and goods atop their head; Ploughing their lands with teams of oxen…

15h00 – 18h00. Afternoon Game Drive in Chobe National Park. 3hrs. Includes soft drinks.

In brace the African sunrise departure to experience the afternoon Chobe game drive. All drives are conducted in an open backed 4×4 vehicle, well suited to the wild African terrain, offering you the perfect view of African bush.
Game Drive runs through The Chobe Game Reserve, an 11 700 km2 wildlife reserve, truly one of Africa’s wildlife gems and one of the greatest game reserves in southern Africa, famous for the number of elephants that reside there. Estimates vary on the elephant population, but what is guaranteed is that you will witness the unforgettable and humbling sight of these vast and majestic herds, sometimes as large as a few hundred, ranging through the reserve.
Sightings of predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog are common, so prolific are they, that the area has been called the Galapagos of Africa. To ensure your experience is as wonderful as it should be, please pack binoculars, cameras, and a windbreaker.

Day 6

Unlike your standard cruises, this full day cruise affords one the time to truly explore the vast, quiet beauty of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. While the size, layout and features of the vessel ensures ultimate comfort for this one-of-a-kind Chobe experience. Arrive to the satisfying aroma of freshly brewed coffee and muffins welcome you aboard the triple decker vessel.
The spacious Chobe Explorer offers a restaurant on the ground floor, a lounge with comfortable couches and occasional chairs on the middle floor with an observation deck situated on the top floor. Please note there are full toilet facilities aboard. Lunch is served aboard at midday and is a traditional braai (barbeque) which includes three meat choices, a variety of salads, traditional stews and side dishes of rice or pap (traditional porridge) as well as dessert.
