The Chobe Explorer Day Trip
From $127.00
This is a custom-made vessel built on the Chobe River. This delightful boat affords one a chance to really sit back in comfort with a drink of your choice to hand…as the boat glides through the stark and verdant landscape that comprises the national park and flood plains. Your host will later invite you to participate in a very tasty lunch on the restaurant deck, which is open on three sides for continued animal sightings. There’s always a hippo honking or a croc lurking nearby. The siesta deck is mainly an after-lunch spot to completely relax as the wild, wild world of Chobe comes to you. Sunsets are sublime, as you’ll indeed experience on the gentle cruise back to the jetty. Do enjoy this unforgettable day out in wild Africa!

Our unique CHOBE EXPLORER could well be described as a ‘moving liquid lounge’, because that’s sure what it feels like as you glide along the fabled Chobe River in search of all that real, raw Africa we expect you to experience. The middle deck is a veritable ‘comfort zone’ of soft couches, laid out for maximum interaction with your fellow cruisers. Africa’s true ‘Eden’ on the Chobe River.
A glass of tempting ‘bubbly’ sets the tone as we set off from the Cresta Mowana Jetty, presenting us with small or large herds of elephant, giraffe, buffalo and many varieties of antelope.
Hippos honk nearby and crocs lurk right beneath our decks, evoking a wonderful sense of ‘danger’, whilst we’re actually perfectly safe. The bird life is heavenly, with more than 460 species making their presence felt at various times of the year.
Meanwhile, below in the galley splendid aromas begin to waft upwards, signalling an imminent barbecue-style lunch that awaits you on the lower dining deck. Later, relax topside in lie-back loungers, soaking up the unique colours, aromas, sounds and scents of the truly magnificent, one-and-only Chobe National Park.

What to Pack? Binoculars will always enhance any game-viewing experience and will be a real boon for bird lovers, who will be more than thrilled with the many species that come and go in this region. You will of course come with long lenses for greater distance images. Don’t forget extra batteries. Sunscreen and lip balm are more than helpful in these dry conditions and carrying ‘wet wipes’ are ideal for freshening up your face, neck and hands. Sunglasses will soften the glare – especially in the middle of the day. Do bring along small packets of tissues. In cooler months (periodically late May through September) we advise bringing a jacket, jersey or shawl. We offer blankets and ponchos.
