A seasoned traveller and advocate for African travel, Brett worked as a Diplomat for the United Nations from 1986 to 1989 and was attached to the PTA (preferential trade area). His responsibilities covered 21 countries in Central and Southern Africa. Brett has the vision and drive to make any dream a reality. His numerous “projects,” as he likes to refer to them stand testament to this – The VicFalls Hot Air balloon co; Harare Safari Lodge; The Alabama Floating Restaurant in Cape Town; Nkuringo Safari Lodge in Uganda; The Zambezi Queen in Namibia; The, Chobe based, Raft Floating Restaurant and most recently Chobe Water Villas. Yet despite his huge success he remains true to his roots, a down to earth “safari boy” with a quick smile and ready joke. Behind every man is the (super) women that quietly fuels his boundless energy and serves as sounding block to his ambitions, this is Jacqui. Together they have lived a life worthy of an autobiography, filled with adventure, excitement and seemingly insurmountable challenges – yet they have always come out on top, ready for the next feat. Brett and Jacqui reside in Kasane, Botswana but often visit their “other” home Cape Town, thereby making the perfect marriage between rough and tough safari and the finer things in life, like never ending hot water and a glass of fine red wine.
