Durban’s King Shaka International Airport

The Arrivals Pick-up Zone at Durban’s King Shaka International Airport will close from 24 May – 26 July for improvement works to the area.

mprovements to cover the entrance and exit of the facility will make it more convenient for users, especially during adverse weather.

Colin Naidoo, communications and brand manager at King Shaka International said that to ensure that the project could be completed in a short space of time, the pick-up zone will have to close for at least 45 days so that the canopies can be erected.

To ensure that users are not inconvenienced during that time, vehicles will be directed into the multi-storey car park:

• The Multi-Storey Parking will be the alternative parking facility during the construction period
• An area on the ‘O’ level closest to the entrance to the terminal building will be allocated for all pick- ups
• Free 20-minute parking will be available within the MSP
• Once the 20 minutes free parking has elapsed, the normal MSP tariffs will apply
• Entrance to this demarcated area will be via the north and south entrance of the MSP
• Payment can be made at any of the pay stations within the MSP

Said Colin: “During this period, there will be directional signage and additional manpower in place to direct the public to the designated parking area within the MSP
