Day Tours and Activities

White Water Rafting:

Full Day (Low Water):

- 7.30am pick up from Livingstone accommodation
- 8.15am pick up from DLSL (clients to have breakfast at the hotel before pick up)
- Meet at Zambezi Waterfront for breakfast, tea, coffee, juice and safety briefing, depart Waterfront approx 9.00am for Boiling Pot and rapid # 1
- Lunch is provided on the banks of the river by rapid # 10. Lunch consists of a variety of rolls, fruit and fruit juice. Water is provided throughout the day
- At the end of the trip, clients will get a lift out of the gorge at rapid # 25 where the truck will be waiting with cold drinks and beers to take them back to Zambezi Waterfront
- 16.30 / 17.00 – Clients arrive back at the Waterfront where they will be served dinner and sit down to watch the video of the day’s rafting. Cash bar
- 17.30 / 18.00 – Clients will be transferred back to their accommodation

Half Day (Low Water) AM Trip:

- 7.30am pick up from Livingstone accommodation.
- 8.15am pick up from DLSL (clients to have breakfast at hotel before pick up)
- Meet at Zambezi Waterfront for Breakfast, Tea, Coffee, Juice and safety briefing, depart Waterfront approx 09.00am for Boiling Pot and rapid # 1
- Clients will walk out of the gorge at rapid # 10 where the truck will be waiting with cold drinks and beers to take them back to Zambezi Waterfront.
- 12.30 / 1.00pm – Clients arrive back at the Waterfront for lunch. Cash bar.
- After lunch, clients will be transferred back to their accommodation.

PM trip (Low Water):

- 10.30am / 10.45am pick up from accommodation. Clients will be driven straight out to rapid # 10 where they will walk down to the bottom of the gorge to meet the rest of the trip.
- At the end of the trip, clients will get a lift out of the gorge at rapid # 25 where the truck will be waiting with cold drinks and beers to take them back to Zambezi Waterfront.
- 16.30 / 17.00 – Clients arrive back at the Waterfront where they will be served dinner and sit down to watch the video of the day’s rafting. Cash bar.
- 17.30 / 18.00 – Clients will be transferred back to their accommodation.

High Water Trip:

- 7.30am pick up from Livingstone accommodation.
- 8.15am pick up from DLSL (clients to have breakfast at hotel before pick up)
- Meet at Zambezi Waterfront for Breakfast, Tea, Coffee, Juice and safety briefing, depart Waterfront approx 09.00am to starting point (normally rapid # 10, depending on water levels)
- At the end of the trip, clients will get a lift out of the gorge at rapid # 25 where the truck will be waiting with cold drinks and beers to take them back to Zambezi Waterfront.
- 14.30 / 15.00 – Clients arrive back at the Waterfront where they will be served a late lunch and sit down to watch the video of the day’s rafting. Cash bar.
- 16.00 – Clients will be transferred back to their accommodation.

Canoe Safaris:

Half-day Safari
? 7.30am – Transfers from lodges within Livingstone
? 8.00am – Tea, coffee and bacon and egg rolls are served at check in at the Waterfront.
? Clients are transferred from the Waterfront (approximately 40 minutes) to the canoe start point upriver.
? On arrival clients are given a safety talk by a professional river guide.
? Clients then practice their paddling skills before setting off on their canoe safari.
? 12.30pm (approx) – Clients are transferred from the finish point to their accommodation. 

Please note that NO lunch is served on a half-day safari. Half day safaris are only available in the mornings, unless by specific request for larger groups.

Full-day Safari
? 7.30am – Transfers from lodges within Livingstone
? 8.00am – Tea, coffee and bacon and egg rolls are served at check in at the Waterfront.
? Clients are transferred from the Waterfront (approximately 40 minutes) to the canoe start point upriver.
? On arrival clients are given a safety talk by a professional river guide.
? Clients then practice their paddling skills before setting off on their canoe safari.
? Lunch is served on an island in the middle of the Zambezi and consists of cold meats and salads.
? 16.00 (approx) – Clients are transferred from the finish point to their accommodation.

Upper Zambezi Raft Float

The Raft Float activity takes place on the Upper Zambezi River above Victoria Falls, Zambia, clients will be in a sixteen foot stern mount inflatable raft, guided by a professional river guide.

- 08.30 – 09.00: Clients picked up from Livingstone accommodation. On arrival at
put in point (natural mystic) clients are given a safety brief by our guides. They
will then spend time practicing their paddling skills (optional) before setting off,
paddling / floating gently downriver for approximately 3 hours.
- 13.30: Arrive at the National Park (Mosi-Oa-Tunya) take out point where a light
lunch will be served.
- 14.30: Arrive back at Livingstone accommodation

Drinks are provided through out the activity (water and soft drinks as well as beer with lunch).

Cruises

The Waterfront currently runs two cruise boats – the “MV MAKUMBI” and the “MV Mambushi”. The cruise is along the river boundary of the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, around Siloka Island and back to the Waterfront Jetty. The total cruise time is 2 ½ hours. There are 2 types of cruises, one includes a complimentary bar and freshly baked snacks, and the other includes a complimentary bar, freshly baked snacks and dinner.

Makumbi
- Maximum 90 clients, double-decker with open sided top level and enclosed lower level (with open windows
Mambushi
- Maximum 25 clients, double-decker with small open viewing platform on top level, open sided lower level
Lady Livingstone:

The Lady Livingstone was built in 2008 to run in conjunction with the newly built David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa; she is moored on a private jetty off to one side of the hotel.
The cruise takes place along the river boundary of the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, total cruise time is approximately 2 hours.
- Sunset cruise times – September to April, departs at 16.30 returns at 18.30. May to August, departs at 16.00 returns at 18.00
- Sunset cruise includes freshly baked snacks and a fully stocked bar included in the price of the cruise. There will also be a cash bar on board for drinks which are excluded from this
- Breakfast or lunch cruises available on request (minimum of 10 clients)
- Children under 12 years old are ½ price, under 4 years are free

Elephant Back Safari:

For the Ride of your Life …………….
View wildlife from another level, and ride the wilderness’ very own 4×4. These majestic creatures will take you through the bush and enable you to see game from another perspective at our very own Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve.
Morning or Afternoon Elephant Interactive Safaris – allow you the opportunity to ride, learn about and interact with these majestic creatures, on a 55 – 60 minute Elephant experience. Morning safaris include breakfast. Afternoon safaris include drinks and snacks.

Lion Encounter:

Walk side by side with the King of the jungle. “The Pride” invites you to take a walk on the wild side and interact with the rowdy adolescents as well as learn about the conservation issues faced by lions today.
Come walk with the Pride….. no leashes, no collars, and the pride roam freely with you through the African bush.

Game Drive:

Enjoy a 3 hour game drive through Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. With the help of our experienced guides you can hope to spot some of Africa’s finest wildlife, including the endangered white rhino, as well as elephant, giraffe, zebra, buffalo and many more. The park is on the banks of the Zambezi River so clients can also enjoy seeing hippos and crocodiles. There is also abundant birdlife in the park.

- No minimum age. However it is not recommended that very young children participate.

Victoria Falls Tour:

A natural phenomenon and one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls is an immense 1.5 km wide curtain of water cascading 100m into the gorge. Around 550 million liters of water fall over the lip every minute. Surrounding the falls is a luscious rainforest, sustained year round by spray created by the thundering falls. There are plant species here which are rarely seen elsewhere in Zambia or Zimbabwe. During peak flow, the Zambian side of the Falls is a spectacular sight and walkways lead to vantage points which require crossing the Knife Edge Bridge.

Livingstone Town Tour:

The town of Livingstone was moved from its original site at the Old Drift in 1905, due to malarial outbreaks and moved to its healthier location on Constitution hill. The town was carefully planned with wide streets lined with trees; a lot of the original architecture is still in place today. The tour is based on the client’s requests and comprises a visit to the Livingstone Museum, which displays a comprehensive collection of David Livingstone memorabilia; next you will take a memorable trip to Maramba Market, a bustling colorful market where you will find everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, to chitenge (local fabric). Or even more exciting the Salaula market, and see large displays of second hand clothes, a great favorite of the locals.

Cultural Village Tour

The local Livingstone Chief, Chief Makuni, encourages visitors to his village, home to some 7,000 Leya people, to gain valuable knowledge of how an African village is run and the day to day routines of the people who live there. A headman will escort you around the village, available to answer any questions you may have, he will show you how traditional huts are made and decorated, as well as explaining village politics.
The tour lasts approximately two hours. There is also a large craft market in the village for you to buy some locally made crafts, even attempt to give it a go.

Victoria Falls & Livingstone Steam Train Company:

The Sunset Bridge Run sees guests transferred from The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa as well as all lodges within the Livingstone area to the Livingstone Train Station. This experience of a lifetime culminates with the steam train stopping on the famous Victoria Falls Bridge where a complimentary glass of sparkling wine is enjoyed. The train operates every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday all year round departing from Livingstone Train Station just off Mosi-Oa-Tunya road. Drop off will then be at Palm Grove Siding where a vehicle will be waiting to transfer clients back to their accommodation.

River Safaris:

Unique propeller-free safari boats will take you to remote places that no other craft can reach, allowing for close-up game viewing. Experience the wide, winding river, the myriad of islands and narrow channels above the Falls.

Morning, lunch and sunset cruises available, including transfers and refreshments. Each trip lasts approximately 2 hours.

Walking Safaris:

Walking Safaris are conducted in the midst of the African Bush in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park which is just upstream from the renowned Victoria Falls. The walks are led by a professional guide and park scouts. Clients will be able to experience up close encounters with the endangered white rhino and other wildlife including, buffalo, hippo, impala, warthog and many more. Gain a fascinating insight into how the local people use the habitat in their daily living, including a chance to touch and even taste the flora. These walks are also a great opportunity to experience some fantastic birding.

Chobe Day Trip (Botswana):

Clients will be picked up from their accommodation and transferred to the Kazangula border post which is approximately a 45 minute drive. On reaching the border, they will be helped through immigration and taken by speedboat across the river to Kasane in Botswana and through immigration again. The clients will then be picked up here and taken off on a 3 hour game cruise, lunch will then be at one of the lodges in Chobe which consists of a buffet (one alcoholic drink, ice tea and water provided, more available at extra cost). After lunch clients then go on a 3 hour game drive and are then returned to the border for transfer back to Livingstone, arrive back at hotel at approximately 18.00.

Flights over the Falls:

Helicopter:
Both short and long flights are available (approximately 15 and 30 minutes). The short flight circuits over the falls, offering superb views from every angle. The long flight goes over the gorge below The Falls, skimming above the rapids of the Zambezi River. Coming out of the gorge the flight then circuits The Falls and finishes off by flying over the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park in the hope of spotting some of Africa’s big game such as elephant and rhino. 

Microlight:
Short and long flights are available as above but long flights do not go down into the gorge but fly overhead.

Livingstone Royal Golf & Country Club:

Established in 1908, the Royal Golf and Country Club was built as an 18-hole course and redesigned in 1936 and then renovated in 2006. The 18-hole course is set in a botanical garden with over 118 tree species providing a unique African golfing experience. The Club has a distinctive Edwardian Clubhouse with a beautiful veranda that includes a restaurant and Club bar overlooking the course. Rates include green fees and the use of a caddie, golf club hire is additional. Clients can book for the first 9 holes or all 18 holes. Transfers are not included.

Bungi Jump:

111 metres of pure adrenalin! Based on The Victoria Falls Bridge, the Bungi jump can certainly be classed as the most scenic in the world. Not for the faint hearted!
The Vic Falls Bungi company now also run a gorge swing and a cable slide at the same site; clients can do all three activities as a Bungi combo for a discounted rate. All three activities are available as a tandem option.

Abseil:

Based above the Batoka gorges only 3km from Victoria Falls, Abseil Zambia provides full or half day excursions or single activities. The full or half day excursions include all of the following activities: – gorge swing, abseil, rap jumping, flying fox, cable slide. On the full day they can do these activities more than once. Tandem gorge swing is also available.

Horse Riding:

Enjoy a horse back ride through the African Bush, taking place through parts of the National Park you can enjoy seeing some of Africa’s wildlife such as giraffe, buffalo, and buck while on the back of a horse, rides also go along the banks of The Zambezi River. Novice and experienced riders are catered for.

Livingstone Island High Tea:

Based at the top of The Victoria Falls, this is the island where David Livingstone first saw The Falls from. A short boat ride is taken from The Royal Livingstone over to the island where you walk across the top of The Falls and even get a chance to swim in a natural rock pool right on the edge – views are not to be missed.

Crocodile Farm:

Gwembe Crocodile Farm houses a large amount of captured crocodiles, including some of Livingstone’s most notorious man-eaters. The Farm also has a collection of Zambia’s most dangerous venomous snakes.
